Dr. Juliano joined Amarin in August 2013 and has over 20 years of experience in lipid and cardiovascular research, with particular focus on polyunsaturated fatty acid research spanning from bench through clinical studies, including management of the landmark REDUCE-IT™ cardiovascular outcomes study of VASCEPA®. Dr. Juliano was promoted to senior vice president of Clinical Research and Development in June 2019 and is responsible for oversight of the Clinical Development and Biostatistics and Data Management teams. Prior to Amarin, Dr. Juliano supported research and drug development efforts in academia and at various companies, including Reliant Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Juliano’s academic efforts included lipid-focused research during her awarded American Heart Association Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center and her PhD studies at Columbia University, along with kinetic modelling research supporting her BS in Physical Organic Chemistry from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Dr. Juliano has considerable publication and public speaking experience, having presented extensively in international academic and professional settings.
